Consultant Clinical Neuropsychologist

BSc (Hons); DClinPsy, CPsychol, AFBPsS, BPS Specialist Register of Clinical Neuropsychologists, BPS Register of Applied Psychology Practice Supervisors.
I have 20 years of experience working with people with brain injuries, neurological conditions, and degenerative disorders, both in the NHS and the private sector. I currently work as Consultant Lead for the Department of Clinical Neuropsychology at Cardiff and Vale University Health Board. I am Secretary to the Applied Psychologists in Health National Special Advisory Group to the Welsh Government and I have worked as an Honorary Lecturer at Cardiff University, Cardiff Metropolitan University, Swansea University and on the MSc Neurorehabilitation Course at University Hospital of Wales. I have been a supervisor to several clinicians enrolled on the BPS Specialist Register of Clinical Neuropsychologists.
I provide neuropsychological assessments, rehabilitation and therapy for patients, and education/training for relatives, carers and staff. I use a range of different approaches including cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), mindfulness, eye movement desensitisation training (EMDR), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) and neuro-behavioural rehabilitation. I have completed Bond Solon training and also conduct Mental Capacity assessment and provide medicolegal reports to the Court.
I am able to travel to the client’s home throughout South Wales, or can offer assessment and therapy in consulting rooms in Cardiff or other clinic spaces closer to the client’s home if desirable. I am also happy to work remotely where appropriate.
